🚀 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗮’𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 – 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲

🚀 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗮’𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 – 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲

Last night’s 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 was another excellent session — thanks to LA FRENCH TECH INDONESIA , Reza PIR NAZAR for hosting, and to the two outstanding speakers:

Also great to see almost everyone sporting Batik on National Batik Day 👏

A few reflections that really stood out for me:

💡 While VC investment is down compared to the “go-go” days of Bukalapak, Gojek, and Tokopedia, the activity we see today is still higher than in other SEA markets.

💡 Even with VCs quieter post “tech winter”, 𝗣𝗘 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 — investing, debt financing, and revenue-sharing with startups.

💡 Indonesia continues to be a hotbed of 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀, not just pushing pure tech innovation. A great reminder that you’re not automatically a “tech company” just because you deliver through apps or websites.

💡 There’s still a gap in many startups when it comes to 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 — particularly given a reluctance to hire expats who can help bridge skill and experience gaps at both executive and manager levels.

💡 And finally — chasing unicorn status may not be today’s reality. Building businesses worth a few hundred million dollars is already an 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 and should be celebrated.

These insights reinforced my belief that Indonesia remains one of the most exciting markets for growth-minded founders and investors.

As someone who’s helped scale businesses across ecommerce, logistics, SaaS, and supply chains in Indonesia and beyond, I’m always open to supporting both 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 and 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 who want to turn great ideas into profitable, sustainable growth.
